2007:
Valéron Strength Films bvba is accredited the IS0 14001-2004 Environmental Management System certificate. This accreditation summarises our commitment to respect the environment while underlining the basics of the Valéron® philosophy:
  • Valéron® film replaces multi layer structures and/or standard films of twice its thickness without reducing the mechanical performance.
  • Valéron® is a 100% polythene film (HDPE cross laminated film) and as such 100% recyclable.
  • Valéron® film transforms today’s scarce raw materials into the most durable, reliable and environmental friendly synthetic film possible.
  • We are committed to contribute to a better environment and the well-being of all.
2004:
Valéron Strength Films bvba changes it sales organisation. Our geographical sales managers (commercialising all Valéron products in one geographical area) are trained to become Application Managers, specialized in commercialising one product range throughout Russia, the Middle East, the European and African continent.

2000:
As Valéron Strength Films nv becomes part of ITW (Illinois Tool Works) a new strategy is implemented: an 80/20 philosophy. This new strategy allows us to focus more on our key competences, while continuously seeking for opportunities to serve our clients better.

1999:
Our product features allow Valéron® film to enter new high-tech applications that are looking for ecological and high durable materials. Whatever the application, Valéron® film becomes more and more a synonymous for quality, durability and reliability in a variety of applications, ranging from industrial packaging over synthetic papers to ecological products.

1997:

Valéron Strength Films starts developing a Valéron® based synthetic paper for high demanding outdoor applications. This development is the basis for the actual Valéron® TL product range (tags and labels applications).

1990:
Valéron Strength Films is accredited, as one of the first companies in Belgium, the ISO 9002 certification. This accreditation is the result of our striving to enhance our product characteristics when possible, and to implement improvements in our production process where possible.

1989:
Valéron Strength Films becomes a member of the Responsible Care program, an initiative of the Belgian Chemical Industry. (www.responsiblecare.org) As a member Valéron Strength Films seeks to continuously improve health, safety and environmental aspects related to the manufacturing of Valéron® film. The Responsible Care® ethics help us to operate safely, profitably and with due care for future generations, and was commended by UNEP as making a significant contribution to sustainable development at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002.

1982:
Valéron Strength Films starts the production of a second type of strength film: Valcross® film. Contrary to Valéron® film (an HDPE film characterised by a smooth surface and high printability), Valcross® film is a polythene film with a corrugated structure.

1968:
The industrial economy values rapidly the unbeaten strength characteristics of Valéron® Film, especially in high demanding packaging applications. Due to the unique characteristics of the Valéron® film (tear resistance, tear propagation resistance, puncture resistance) some of the applications started at that time are still served today.

1965:
Valéron Strength Films (at that time called Van Leer Flexibles) starts developing Valéron® Film. The production site, build in the ‘Kempen’ approximately 35 km north of Antwerp, is located in the green part of Antwerp. Therefore the production of Valéron® film complies with the most stringent environmental regulations from the start onwards.
